REVIEW:
The
Pointe Golf Club is located right in the heart of Phoenix
but because of the mountains in the area and the great scenery
all around it doesn't feel like the city is right around
the corner. There are many top courses in the Phoenix area
and The Pointe Golf Club ranks right up with the others.
It is easy to get to from anywhere in the metro area. Hilton
owns and manages some of the best golf courses in America
and The Pointe Golf Club is another fine addition to that
group. The staff at the course helped us get underway and
off the first tee right on time even though we were running
late coming from reviewing another course in the area. The
layout of the course was really neat as the first six holes
were similar in style to Midwestern courses and then we
encountered the familiar desert style target golf with the
last few holes going back to tree lined fairways. We were
provided with a yardage guide to help us plot our shots
but we would have liked to have had the use of a GPS system
as is common at most of the high end courses in the Phoenix
area. The course was in excellent condition and each hole
was challenging. The elevation changes on some of the holes
really made it interesting trying to determine our club
selection but that really added to the fun we had playing
this course. We had a great day of golf at The Pointe Golf
Club and we can confidently say that any golfers coming
to the Phoenix are will also enjoy a round of golf here.
RATING:
GolfTest USA recommends The Pointe Golf Club as an
"Elite" golf course in the Phoenix area.
