REVIEW:
Sedona Golf Resort is blessed with some of the most awe
inspiring views to be found anywhere on earth. It is located
in the Village of Oak Creek just south of Sedona, Arizona,
in the heart of one of the most captivating regions of the
Southwest. The 6,646-yard, par - 71 course is widely considered
among the world's most unforgettable golf experiences. The
course winds around the famous red rocks of Sedona, with
each hole providing a unique view of some of the most photographed
rocks in America. Sedona Golf Resort is just a short drive
from Phoenix or Flagstaff. This well planned locale offers
many attractive accommodation choices, including Golden
Heritage Homes, Hilton Sedona Resort and Sunterra's Ridge
Timeshares. Also nearby is The Ridge Spa & Racquet Club,
which offers first-class amenities for fitness and relaxation
all year round.
Sedona Golf Resort has a country club atmosphere but with
a warm friendliness toward all visiting golfers. Everyone
working at the course from the pro shop staff to the grill
room hosts are top notch and genuinely want to give each
golfer an experience to remember. Several of the members
of the GolfTest USA staff live right on Sedona Golf Resort
so we are a little partial to it. The course offers a real
challenge to all golfers but has wide fairways so it is
forgiving as well. After checking in at the pro shop, golfers
are sent to the practice facility until they are summoned
by the starter to tee off. The practice facility is broken
up into three separate areas located a short cart ride from
one another. A practice green, a short game area and a full
length grass range. At a course of this caliber, golfers
have the use of the latest GPS system that makes it easy
to maneuver around and know exactly the yardage anywhere
on the course even if it is your first time playing here.
Each hole is a delight to experience. The fairways are kept
in top shape year round. The greens are large and tend to
be difficult for even the best of players. Don't be disappointed
if you end up three putting a few times. It happens to the
best of us. Be sure to bring a few extra balls with you
just in case. Back at the clubhouse, Sedona Golf Resort
also has a well-equipped pro shop, locker rooms and a full
service restaurant.
The
pro shop caters towards high-end clothing lines. There are
many other golf related products available and lots of souvenirs
to remind you of the great time you had at one of the top
courses in Arizona. Ryan Stemsrud is the Director of Golf
and he has assembled an outstanding staff whose goal is
to make sure everyone who plays Sedona Golf Resort has a
memorable golfing experience.
