REVIEW:
GolfTest
USA had the opportunity prior to the PGA Show in January
to play several of the top courses in the Orlando area.
Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club was on our short
list and while it is a little outside the city limits it
was worth the drive. Steve Smyers is the course architect
and he went to great pains to make sure Southern Dunes offered
a real challenge to all skill levels of golfers. There are
so many bunkers on the course that we think even Tiger would
have a difficult time not finding at least a few during
a round. That just added to the fun and frustration that
we experienced with each shot we made. You really need to
have all your shots in your bag playing this course. This
is diffidently not your typical Florida golf course and
that’s a good thing. The course was in excellent shape
from tee to green. We would welcome the chance to play here
again and hopefully we would make sure to bring our “A”
game.
RATING:
GolfTest USA recommends Southern Dunes Golf & Country
Club as a "Must Play" golf course in the Orlando,
Florida area.
